Overview
Course Description
This 16-hour training program will familiarize the participant with DeviceNet Hardware/Software, and how they interface with the Allen- Bradley PLC-5. Each participant will be required to set up a network, add devices to the network and troubleshoot these devices using the required software.
Supported Hardware & Software
- This course can be delivered utilizing Alen-Bradley ControlLogix, PLC-5 or SLC 500 programmable controller hardware platforms. The course can be delivered either RS Networx for DeviceNet or DeviceNet Manager software.
Prerequisites
Personnel enrolled in this workshop should have completed the Allen- Bradley PLC-5 Level 1 and PLC-5 Level 2 or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge by achieving an acceptable score on a placement exam.
Objectives
Persons successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Identify hardware components of a DeviceNet System
- Identify appropriate taps, connectors, power supplies and cables
- Determine the cause of cable system faults
- Connect to the network to configure and troubleshoot devices
- Use RS Networx Software to configure a DeviceNet Network
- Verify the proper operation of the network
- Map a 1771 SDN Scanner’s data table
- Interpret and modify and modify scan list
